SBR will be holding their annual golf tournament on May 9th at the Portsmouth Country Club, and as the 2008 Charity of Choice, we will receive the proceeds. The cost per player is $125, which includes 18 holes of golf and a lively dinner at the Portsmouth Country Club following the tournament. The public is encouraged to play, as well as participate in sponsorship activities. To obtain an application or learn more about the event, contact Joanna Rousseau at 668- 6972. Come out for a fun filled day, and support your community at the same time!

We will be distributing our Easter Food Baskets to approximately 100 local families in need on Friday, March 21st from 4-6pm. This year, included in each basket will be a ham, fresh green beans, potatoes, apples and pears, as well as a can of cream of mushroom soup, fried onions, a graham cracker crust, and pie filling. In addition, we will be giving out chocolates donated by Lindt. If you would like to donate either financially or in-kind to support our food basket program, please contact our office at 603-436-6161. Thank you for supporting your community!

Seacoast Family Food Pantry would like to warmly welcome Margie Parker as our new Assistant Executive Director. Margie will be assisting clients, managing inventory, and lending a hand with all fundraising and executive tasks. Margie is an excellent addition to our team and we hope you will stop in to welcome her!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your donations this year and to share some exciting news with you! You know us as Family Service Association, but we have undergone a name change and are now Seacoast Family Food Pantry. Upon completion of a recent strategic planning initiative, we have renewed our commitment to serving the Seacoast community with the same determination and compassion, respecting the dignity of every individual and family who needs our assistance. In recent years, there was some confusion as to who we are and what we do, with many in the general public confusing us with the Family Service Division of the police department, Child and Family Services, or as being a part of Families First. We feel that our new name will eliminate confusion, and with increased clarity, we will better be able to reach those in need of our service, volunteers and those who wish to support us! We remain the same agency that you felt worthy of your donation, and we look forward to your continued support of our mission under our new name!

Your donations continue to go toward the purchase of protein, fresh vegetables and fruit, bread, and canned goods for our client families. Our families are so pleased to see fresh items as a part of our offering, and we received many calls of thanks and praise. We feel that we must pass this praise on to you, as your donations make the inclusion of fresh items possible! Thank you so much for brightening the meals of so many in need!
